Throughout my academic career as a mechanical engineering student, my team and I used ITP metrics to assess our behavior in a team as well as help up understand our strengths and weakness in a group work setting.
"You do a great job in keeping the team on track and ensuring regular check-ins. Your way of mapping out the team's tasks and setting internal deadlines is appreciated."
"Max has been proactive in getting things done related to the project. She has been able to apply her previous knowledge and experience to benefit the project team in design, CAD, and team management. She has shown great commitment towards the project and attaining good results by inputting a great deal of effort into the work and its delivery. She has successfully gotten everyone on the same page when discussions or confusions arise within the group. She has been an essential team member who positively contributes to the team and its associated tasks."
"Max continues to organize and lead the team's workflow and ensure that progress moves smoothly."
"Max always makes sure to help and contribute to the team when they may need help!"
"You are great at SolidWorks and significantly contribute to the CAD portion of the dissections. CADing takes a long time (*cough* gearbox *cough*) so I really appreciate the amount of time you dedicate to our models since it helps our team find better solutions. Please continue playing around with and exploring SolidWorks, it will help our team now and you in future design projects."
"Max has always contributed to the group dissections and completed her respective tasks and is always willing to help with other tasks whenever she has time to do so. She has positively affected the workflow of the group by initiating internal deadlines and check-in before the deadline while ensuring everyone is on track to the completion of their tasks. Her vast knowledge has also positively affected the progress and the output of high-quality work related to the deliverables of the dissections, including the CAD, modifications, and explanations."
My wonderful teammates have all given me positives feedbacks that outlines my technical skills as well as interpersonal skills. However, I'd like to take the opportunity and reflect on myself. Of all the personality/leadership styles I have taken in my leadership class, my strengths always lay in my technical skills and critical thinking ability, which shaped me towards a mentor-type leader where I share my skills and knowledge with others who are willing to learn.
However, my weaknesses are also associated with me being an analytical person. Rather than giving more of my attention to the overview, I tend to hyperfocus on the small details of things and push myself or others towards perfection. My analytical personality also adds to my skeptical nature, and sometimes makes me present myself in a seemingly quick-to-reject manner.
I hope to further hone my interpersonal skills and continue to work on the aspect of my personality.
